Step 1: Order what you need
Once you've decided what you plan to do on your little solo picnic adventure, you can order what you need on Amazon or at the store.
Here's everything I ordered on Amazon for my picnic date:
- picnic basket
- charcuterie board
- picnic blanket
- polaroid camera
- reusable grocery bag (for the vibes)
- wagon
what else to consider bringing
Food
- Cheese
- Bread
- Fruit
- Grapes
- Blueberries
- Strawberries
- Fruit in bag (for aesthetics lol)
- Nut mix
- Olives
- Yummy beverage of choice
Misc.
- Drink
- Glasses
- Sun glasses
- Bowls
- Knives
- Napkins
- Something to play music with
- Flowers
- Something for under the blanket
- Tripod
Step 2: Your outfit
You'll want to dress comfortably yet make it fun — especially if you want to get some cute pictures or content! You also want to think of your solo picnic as a date with someone important: yourself! Whether it’s a breezy summer dress or comfy shorts and a t-shirt, wear something that makes you feel good.
Here's the dress that I wore on my picnic date:
Step 3: Pick a location
Your choice of location can make or break your solo picnic date. Look for a spot that feels safe and comfortable, yet inspiring. A quiet corner in a local park, beside a serene lake, or under a shady tree in your favorite botanical garden can be perfect. Consider the time of day and the level of privacy you desire when selecting your spot.

Set up & Enjoy
Once you've found a spot you want to set up in, you can lay everything out and take your time setting up. Putting it all together is the fun part and something you can also document along the way.
I love making charcuterie boards (mainly eating them), so I had a lot of fun just setting it all up on the cute charcuterie board I ordered and making it look aesthetic and fun for pictures as well.
This is also the best time to get pictures and content out of the way if you're wanting to document your solo journey and get content for your socials, which can always be fun.
Once, that's all done, pour yourself a nice drink and just enjoy your time with yourself. You brought whatever it was that you wanted to make sure you had with you on your date and now's the time to bust that out and relax and have fun with it.
It could be really nice to have a stereo or just bring some airpods and listen to some music or a podcast you're enjoying while painting, coloring, journaling, reading, honestly what ever it is that makes you feel like you are having the best time with yourself. Having these moments alone, doing the things that I love is something that has really made me fall in love with solo dates.
